The Reverend Daniel J. Riggall, Rector
|
Although he grow up in Pennsylvania, Dan Riggall began his ministry in New Jersey since he lived there at the time and worked as a part-time lay Youth Director at Trinity Church, Princeton. It was at Trinity Church were Dan and his wife Fran met and were married in 1975. After graduation from the General Theological Seminary in New York City and ordination in Trinity Cathedral, Trenton, Dan served as a curate in Christ Church, New Brunswick, New Jersey for a year and then moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where he was the Assistant Rector at the Chapel of the Cross. Dan’s first post as a Rector was at Saint Paul’s Church in Monroe, North Carolina. While in North Carolina the whole Riggall family became avid Tarheel basketball fans -- Michael Jordan was a student at UNC when the Riggalls lived in Chapel Hill. The Riggalls moved back to New Jersey when Dan became Rector of Saint Peter’s Church in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. Friends from Chapel Hill told them: “The only people who move back to New Jersey from North Carolina are Duke graduates”. In 1990, Dan became Dean of the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul in Burlington, Vermont. Finally, the Riggalls moved to Kennebunk, as Dan became our rector on April 1, 1997. Although they maintain deep and lasting friendships in every church community they have lived, the Riggalls now call Kennebunk their true home and hope that “One Mere Lane, Kennebunk” will be their last address while Dan remains in active ministry. Fran and Dan have one grown son, Justin, who lives in Scarborough, Maine. |
