STEWARDSHIP
- Finance Committee The Finance Committee oversees all the financial affairs or the parish, prepares the annual budget, reviews financial reports monthly and advises the Vestry of the status of accounts, oversees the endowment fund, and gives advice and counsel to the Treasurer and the Vestry. Dick Clinton is Chair of the committee.
- Stewardship Committee The Stewardship Committee is responsible for educating and engaging the parish in the full range of stewardship activities, including the annual stewardship pledge drive. Harriet T. Mill is Chair of the committee.
- Celebration Garden Committee The Celebration Garden Committee oversees and maintains the garden outside the Great Hall, used for special occasions, including parish picnics, in good weather. Ann Browne is Chair of the Celebration Garden Committee.
- Memorial Garden Saint David’s Memorial Garden, immediately adjacent to the church, was constructed to receive the ashes of those who have gone before us and to provide a place for quiet meditation. Jeanne Kita Burke is the Memorial Garden Director.
WORSHIP
- Worship Advisory Committee The Worship Advisory Committee advises and assists theRector in the planning of worship services. Reverend Daniel J. Riggall is chair of the Worship Advisory Committee.
- Worship Service Participants Members of the laity assist the clergy during services in a variety of ways; Acolytescarry the cross and lead the procession and assist in the preparation of the altar as required; Lay Eucharistic Ministers administer the chalice at the Eucharist; Lectors read the scripture lessons and psalms at services; Ushers greet worshippers, distribute bulletins and service leaflets, collect the offering and count the number of attendees at each service. Bill Rhines, Jr., Verger, is in charge of scheduling and training worship service participants.
- Lay Eucharistic Visitors Eucharistic Visitors take the sacrament to members of the congregation who are unable to attend Sunday services under the supervision of the deacon, the Reverend Gail S. Chandler.
- Adult Choir The Adult Choir sings anthems and other choral music during the 10:30 Sunday services as well as providing musical leadership for the congregation in the singing of hymns and canticles. The Choir also sings during special services throughout the year. Thomas Kovacevic, Pastoral Musician, is the director of the choir.
- Altar Guild The members of the Altar Guild prepare the altar for all regular worship services during the year as well as for weddings, funerals and other special occasions. The Altar Guild cleans and cares for all the linens, vestments, vessels and other liturgical items used during church services. Victoria Donaghy and Linda Rines are Co-Directresses of the Altar Guild.
- Flower Guild The members of the Flower Guild are responsible for all floral arrangements displayed during church services. Members contribute cuttings from their own gardens in season and work with local florists to provide beautiful arrangements throughout the year. Carolyn Gowdy is the Chair of the Flower Guild.
- Morning Prayer Lay Ministers The daily office of Morning Prayer is led by members of the laity at 7:30 am on Monday through Friday of each week. All are welcome to attend and participate.
EDUCATION
- Church School and Confirmation Class Church School classes, activities for younger children and Confirmation classes, including youth activities.
- Adult Education Regular opportunities for Adult Education are provided by, or offered under the supervision of the clergy, the Reverend Daniel J. Riggall.
HOSPITALITY
- Hospitality Committee Members of the Hospitality Committee plan and manage various events throughout the year, including “coffee hours” following Sunday services, pot luck dinners and lunches, picnics, and food for receptions following special events. Responsibility for various functions is divided among several people. Carolyn Kershaw and Cynthia McDonnell provide support for coffee hour hosts; Barbara Clark is coordinator of Life Events, including funeral collations.
SERVICE AND OUTREACH
- Outreach Committee Members of the Outreach Committee review opportunities to assist others beyond the local church, disseminate information to the congregation and make the final determination about how outreach funds are disbursed. Ed Bellegarde is Chair of the Outreach Committee.
- Fundraising Committee Members of the Fundraising Committee plan and organize various fundraising events throughout the year, including book and plant sales, ham and bean suppers, sales of Christmas wreaths and similar events.
